Caliber celebrates veteran teammates who served our country

This Veterans Day, Caliber and our family of brands, Caliber Collision, alongside Caliber Auto Glass, Caliber Auto Care and Caliber Fleet Solutions, are proudly living our Purpose, Restoring the Rhythm of Your Life® and thanking the brave veterans who have given so much of themselves to our country. We salute you!

Transitioning from military service to civilian life can be challenging, and Caliber offers solutions to help ease that transition, while also facilitating pathways to prosperity. Our two proprietary programs, Changing Lanes and Technician Apprentice Program (TAP), provide free, hands-on auto body technician training and the potential for a purpose-driven career in the collision repair industry.

We are proud of our Changing Lanes and TAP teammates who have successfully transitioned into impactful auto body careers. In honor of Veterans Day, we wanted to share a few stories of military veterans who joined us at Caliber.

Kristen served as a United States Marine Corps motor transportation operator for eight years. Her lifelong passion for working on cars began as a hobby with her father and inspired her to join the Changing Lanes program after service. With the support of the Caliber team, Kristen completed her apprenticeship in Seymour, TN, after which she joined Caliber as a full-time technician.

Michael joined the United States Marine Corps in 2018, where he served as a combat engineer for four years at Camp Lejeune, NC. A Caliber recruiter introduced him to Changing Lanes after he departed from service. Caliber provided Michael with top-of-the-line training in conducting safe and proper vehicle repairs. In June 2022, he began working at Caliber with a TAP mentor and graduated from the program in October of that same year.

Mark joined the United States Army at 17 years old, where he developed life-changing confidence, courage and adaptability. After completing his college degree through the GI Bill, Mark found a sense of purpose at Caliber, elevating his career to a leadership role, where he actively helps teammates in both Changing Lanes and TAP programs achieve their personal career goals.

Colten served in the United States Army for two years. After leaving the military, he was introduced to the Changing Lanes program. Caliber placed Colten with a supportive team that he now considers family. Initially starting as an auto body technician, Colten soon transitioned into a service advisor role, which he has held for nearly two years.

Changing Lanes is a specialized training program during a 15-week cohort with classes starting every five weeks and job opportunities offered at one of our 1,700-plus Caliber locations upon successful completion. Upon placement, Caliber provides new teammates with professional tools and a tailored training plan to continue their career path.

TAP is open to applicants of all skill levels and backgrounds who want to embark on a new career. Apprentices receive paid, on-the-job training from an experienced body tech mentor. TAP also creates career-expanding opportunities for senior auto body technicians as they become mentors and trainers, earning bonuses when apprentices graduate from the program and start their new careers with Caliber.

Join us as we celebrate our veteran teammates today and every day.  We are honored to be a part of their career journey, from protecting lives to restoring them. Learn more about our Changing Lanes and TAP programs and the benefits for service members and veterans.
