Caliber well represented during WIN annual conference

The Women’s Industry Network (WIN) recently hosted their annual educational conference earlier this month in San Antonio, TX. The three-day event, themed “Reimagining Tomorrow,” provided females in the collision repair industry an opportunity to network, learn and celebrate one another.

As a proud sponsor of the event, the Caliber family of brands, including Caliber Collision and Caliber Auto Care alongside Caliber Auto Glass, had a large presence of 26 teammates in attendance. Caliber teammates lived our purpose of Restoring the Rhythm of Your Life®, participating in all facets of the conference, from board and event leadership to being celebrated among the Most Influential Women honorees, to panel discussions and more.

Blair W., Manager, Integrated Client Support for Caliber and current WIN board member, served as committee co-chair, where she oversaw agenda coordination, including the speaker lineups throughout the conference.

Kicking off the conference was an NABC Recycled Rides® gifting, where two deserving U.S. military veterans received reliable transportation, with vehicles restored by Caliber teammates at our Garden Ridge Caliber Collision center in San Antonio. Our teammates volunteered their time and talents to refurbish these vehicles to like-new condition for the veterans and their families. To date, Caliber has gifted more than 500 vehicles since 2012.

Jamie S., Caliber’s Director, Sales Strategy & Enablement, moderated a panel discussion on attracting and retaining talent and was joined by five industry experts, including Caliber’s own Yohanna P., Technician Apprentice Program (TAP) Training Program Manager. Panelists addressed various topics, such as workforce shortage challenges and how collision industry organizations are finding new ways to appeal to today’s job seekers. They also addressed the need to showcase collision repair careers to Gen Z, highlighting lifelong career benefits and skills training, as well as ways to effectively retain current employees through compensation, incentives and positive work environments.

Caliber also played a role during the Most Influential Women award ceremony, one of the industry’s most prestigious honors. Yohanna was one of six female leaders recognized for her outstanding contributions to Caliber and for blazing a trail within the collision repair industry. Yohanna’s many achievements were highlighted, specifically her passion for attracting future technicians to Caliber and her ability to inspire Caliber teammates to reach their full potential through our proprietary TAP program. In her acceptance speech, Yohanna thanked the WIN organization for volunteering time and caring enough about women in this industry to host such a meaningful event. She also acknowledged fellow teammates and her significant other who’ve mentored and supported her throughout her career journey.

The conference concluded with a special video unveiling of next year’s location – in Newport Beach, CA, May 6-8, 2024. Registration opens December 15, 2023.
